Bit.Trip Beat is the first game in the main Bit.Trip Series and is the first game to be featured in The Bit.Trip collection.
The story follows the newborn Commander Video as he is trying to figure things out while his brain develops.
The player moves the PS4 controller by tilting it forwards and backwards to move their paddle. (This gameplay mechanic was carried over from the original WiiWare version of the game, in which the player moves the paddle by tilting the Wii Remote.) The player has to bounce many kinds of beats off the paddle, so that they do not pass the paddle. If the player misses too many beats, they enter Nether Mode, where, this time, if the players misses too many beats, “Game Over.” To escape Nether Mode and return to Hyper Mode, the player must not miss too many beats. While in Hyper Mode, if the player bounces off a certain number of beats without going into Nether Mode, they enter Mega Mode, where the more beats the player bounces off with their paddle, the bigger their score multiplies. If they miss too many beats, they return to Hyper Mode.
This series shows my progress through the game as I try to beat all three levels, in which I had never beaten the third and final level before!
